About meThank you for visiting my website, it’s definitely work in progress as my creative journey evolves.
Many years ago, as a teacher of art in schools, I dreamt of having the time to create my own art and spend time walking, sketching, absorbing my surroundings and responding through painting and printmaking. It has taken me a while, but over the past few years since I moved to Bristol from Lancashire I have found inspiration from this wonderful, creative community, met so many like-minded, supportive artists and friends and taken part in showing and selling my work in a range of venues and arts trails around my local area. I am now involved in a daily creative practice and immersion in all things arty...... and it is wonderful! The inspiration for my art is grounded in nature; observing and responding to a sense of place, particularly more wild and abandoned places, both around my local environment discovered on walks and rambles, and from my adventures around the world over the past few years which have always been accompanied by my travel pack of paints and small sketchbooks. As a member of Spike Print Studio for several years I explored images through printmaking, and more recently shifted into painting during the lockdown in 2020, developing and exploring acrylics, inks, collage and a range of other media. I work on different surfaces: paper, canvas, board and often use my own collage papers. I love experimenting and exploring different techniques and formats, working in sketchbooks and on a range of sizes for my paintings. Since beginning to work in acrylics I have been commissioned on several occasions and I am happy to develop bespoke ideas and designs in collaboration with buyers’ requirements. I have recently started doing workshops for art students in schools, please contact me if you are interested in hosting an Artist in Residence. Please feel welcome to contact me if you are interested in any work shown here, or would like to discuss a commission. All works are for sale. |
